Previously called as Splitz tomato ?? paste.Have used occasionally and it's very good.Used before several times for making Chutneys,Rasam,Sambhar, Pasta, Noodles etc and also used as natural food color.In my family we daily use tomatoes ( atleast 350 gms on average)This time bought this as a tomato reserve (Like reserve cash) buffer stock to compensate high tomato prices.Indira tomato paste is a Good quality product at an affordable price without using any preservatives or colors.Highly concentrated/thick paste is easy to use and store. Little quantity is enough to make a curry/dish.

This is an excellent substitute for fresh tomatos, it's made of up nothing but tomatos and 0 preservatives. It does add the exact same flavor as fresh tomatos would, since it's a concentrated tomato paste it won't thicken your gravy like regular tomatos would, personally I felt absolutely no need to add any other substitute to thicken the gravy, have used it in pasta, chicken/mutton gravies and daily vegetable sabzis and never felt that I am missing out flavor of fresh tomatos or substitute to thicken the gravy, that's how brilliant it is.Packaging is a bit unique though, I would highly recommend them to work on improving this pouch design, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement in that department. The nozzle cap is clumsy, placement of nozzle is weird as well, should have gone with straight nozzle like one we get in ginger-garlic paste packs. The material of the pouch is excellent, it hardly sucks any air once you squeezed out desired amount of paste that means it can definitely last for up to 30-40 days once opened and kept it in fridge.
