Anjali has been in the kitchen appliance business for decades and only they could think of providing a ring below the appa patra for stability on the gas stove. I have my reservations that it serves the purpose of uniform heating as someone suggested in a review. Who could think of providing you with a wooden pencil kind of device to rotate the appa than anjali ! These guys have really thought about everything for an appa making process ! And with a steel lid the entire system is worth purchasing. No wonder it's the top rated appa patra amongst all brands !

I bought same product in 2018..happy with quality. So ordered another one to use it at my Home town, this time received damaged lid. The product package(box) was in good condition...Silkrute should keep/stick instruction to Handle with care ..if there is possibility of damage.

I really liked this product. It is very lightweight but is very sturdy. The non stick surface really works because I made appams with 1 tiny drop of oil! They turned out great. The lid holder as well as the pan handle did not heat up at all. The heat distributed evenly to the outer ring of moulds as well. The plastic pointed turner also has a serrated knife end as well. I would definitely recommend purchasing this.

Recently i learned about appam recipe .So i bought this set to make appams at home. I had no prior idea of appam maker .Cons : 1. This is a 12 hole appam patra. The diameter of appam patra is 20cms and that of each hole is 4cms. I think it is too small. I would rather go for a bigger appam patra of 25cms in diameter with 7 holes. I think it will be easier to cook appams in a 7 hole appam patras. (if you prefer small size appams, then it should not be the con)Apart from that there is no con. The build quality is good for the price we pay. Non stick coating is also of good quality. Overall the appam patra looks durable. It took 5 minutes to make one set of 12 appams and they turned out to be crispy and yummy. There is also a lid included .So it is a very good deal . The wooden turner helps in flipping and pricking appams when they are cookedi recommend this set blindly if you like small size appams. Otherwise go for a bigger base or 7 hole appam patra for ease of cooking.
