I unpacked and used the Rock Tawa Kadai (11") and would recommend this for anyone who wants a cast iron wok. Shipping was as expected and item was minimally but suitably packed. I first cleaned the kadai with mild soap and water but it was not overly greasy or oily from the factory. It has a nice deep copper color as shown in the pictures. I then boiled clean water in it several times to remove any residue from manufacturing and then coated with oil and heated until smoking and repeated twice. I cooked lamb mince on a gas stove and the cast iron worked as expected, the bowl shape allows for easy stirring and the heat seems to rise fairly evenly up the sides. This will work great for stir-fry, soup, deep-fry, simmering gravy, etc. I selected this brand because I thought the flat handles would be easier for storage, as it can sit upside-down on a flat surface. The flat handles also make it easy to pour hot liquid out of the Kadai. The inner diameter is 11" (~28cm) so it will it can be stored upside down on-top of a standard 5L Dutch oven, the lid from the dutch oven fits inside the Kadai and can be used to keep food warm after cooking. I have several Lodge brand cast iron products and the Rock Tawa unit is not finished quite as well, (reason for only 4 stars) but the value for rupee of the Rock Tawa products is very high and I would not hesitate to buy more Rock Tawa products. I much prefer Indian made cast iron over cheaper "non-stick" options typically manufactured in China. The bottom of the Kadai is round so it probably will not work well with a flat induction stove, it would probably work really well for cooking over a fire. I am happy with this purchase and expect the Rock Tawa 11" Kadai will provide many years of fun cooking and great food.
