Advantages
Very happy with this. Dosas are crisper than they are with a non-stick tawa. Of course its heavy, like all cast iron cookware and needs to be cared for properly to ensure it doesn't rust, though I find after a few uses its seasoned well enough to avoid rust. I was told that cast iron tawas are more difficult to use than non-stick, and it does take a bit of practice to get it right, but I didn't find this to be a major issue.

Advantages
As the product description says a thicker tawa would take longer to heat up and a thinner tawa would not have an even spread of heat. This tawa is very well balanced in terms of thickness, and after my first use today I agree manufacturer has indeed applied "Practical Design" in making this tawa. The Tawa came pre-seasoned so all I did was wash it gently with scrubber and dishwash detergent no longer than 15 seconds. I put it on stove spread some oil, made my first dosa. It stuck to the surface and I had to scrape it off. Sprinkled some water on the tawa to clean it up. Poured batter for the second dosa and viola! it came out as perfectly as I'd imagined. And, then I made 5 more and all of them came really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delighted to own it! I bought a 14 inch tawa which allows for making big dosas. Buy with confidence. Highly recommended!

Even heat distribution with smart handling experience. Superb packaging. But finishing is not up to the mark. Seems to be completely hand made, which is good for health. However, The surface looks like the moons crust at places. ??Watch the video.

Let it cooled natually and cleaned with cut onion. That's all very next dosa was crisp and no need of spatula to lift dosa. It comes out automatically.Just remember to put only low-medium fle and let the heat spread evenly before using. Totally worth it!!

I was searching for a good cast iron dosa tawa, seen many brands online, but was not satisfied with any of them. Few were very expensive, few were of poor quality, then later I found this brand, after seeing many positive reviews I made my mind to buy this, though its bit expensive side, but comparatively sounded reasonable, as its one time investment, and the reason i loved this tawa was its made in India, and they are giving one year warranty. My tawa arrived bit early , packaging was decent, tawa is pre seasoned, though there was bit chipping here in there, apart from that it was good. I cleaned it thoroughly with normal scrub using salt n mild liquid dish washing gel, wiped it dry, applied gingelly oil generously and heated tawa on medium to high flame for around 20min, while heating i saw rust coming out, wiped it with thick cotton cloth several times, dont use paper towel or other thin cloths to wipe tawa, they will get burn, even after a long process it was not properly seasoned, i saw old seasoning getting peeled of, i let it cool down on its own , again washed it, this time with steel scrub using salt and liquid soap, then followed same seasoning process. This time also i saw little rust oozing out, wiped it couple of times and continued heating process, viola after 20min of heating process my tawa was well seasoned , its shiney smooth black surface, i was happy with the final output, next day i made dosas, before my first dosa i applief oil and heated tawa on high heat, then lowered the flame, wiped excess oil with thick cloth and made dosa first one didnt come out well, 2nd one was good with crispy bottom, finally i have my dream cast iron dosa tawa, total happy with the product, go for it with out any thoughts, i wrote My seasoning process to help others, hope it serves the purpose, thank you bhagya cast iron team for wonderful made in india tawa :-)
