Nakshathra Iron Dosa Kallu Tawa is a specialty of a small community of artisans based in rural Tamil Nadu. Once known for making this tawas the art form is slowly dying with the introduction of non-stick cookware. We bring you these products directly from these artisans who have been making them for generations. Completely hand-made and pre-treated for immediate use in the burner. We have two variants: Medium and Large size Kallu- Both recommended for making Dosas Chapattis Parathas Adai Akki Roti etc. The Large Kallu is recommended for large families to make as many dosas as possible without overheating the Tawa.

I am in love with this TAWA. Very good non sticky surface. Way better than rough cast iron surface. It's heavy, thick and smooth. And i just love the concave shape as oil remains at the centre and dont slide to the corners.
