I was looking for a pan for making Dosas and came across this Pigeon Mio Flat Tawa.Though I was hesitant about quality, my doubts vanished on receiving the Tawa.The item features:-flat bottom, not concave or convex anywhere-good non stick coating,oil drops just float on it without sticking!-ergonomically designed handle-the base has a separate aluminum circular patch at the center ,to evenly distribute the heat-edges are curved up, saves you the trouble of taking care of dough on totally flat pan.-enough thickness about 4.5 mm-Dosas come very neatly.31 cm dia!Cons:The only con is the riveted joint of handle with the pan. not very strong, good enough if not rocking .I received an item with rocking handle at the joint,requested replacement which was promptly done by amazon.=====It is made of premium quality aluminum that heats up quickly.Definitely value for money.Recommended!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you feel my review is useful to you, please press "YES" button below.

Nov. 2014:Great product!- Large size is perfect for dosas- Perfectly flat surface allows even spreading of batter- Good quality non-stick coating means you can cook with almost no oil- Easy to cleanSeemed a little expensive when I bought it - but having used it for one year, I can say it is worth the price.Oct. 2020:Have been using it for the last 6 years, twice/thrice a week for a family of 5. Has lasted much longer than I expected. It has now got a slight depression at the centre (which doesn't really seem to be a problem) and the non-stick coating has started to come off a little (which is a problem). Am planning to buy exactly the same thing again if I can get it at a reasonable price.

INITIAL REVIEW (November 2015) :Not as sturdy as Prestige, but good enough. Prestige products have their own problems like changing shape over time especially center of the pans, tawa's swells up and all the oil, preparations drip and stays on the sides. Trying Pigeon for the first time. Time will tell. But overall satisfied so far.UPDATE June 2021:Still going strong. It used to get out of shape too. But I would bring it back in shape using bit of force.Definitely lasting more than expensive Prestige induction Tawas. I had thrown whole prestige set away.FINAL UPDATE JANUARY 2022:Finally saying goodbye to this non-stick tawa. After literally 5 years of using it it's become uncleanable. All the hard deposites can't be cleaned now after so many years and didn't want to use rough methods. Tried everything from Internet but no use nothing cleans it any further. I have decided to throw all non-stick and replace them all with original Cast Iron Tawas and kadhais. All health conscious people are dumping Aluminum and non-stick for steel and Iron myself included. In last one month got rid of majority of aluminum and non-stick. There are several reasons both of these are unhealthy and cleaning is mess. Iron Tawas are so easy to maintain and last generations. Please see final pictures after 5 years of usage.You can still buy but non-stick are nuisance after a while maids ruin it and we can't clean them throughly enough no Matter how well we take care. Easier to go with Iron as it can be cleaned using rough methods like steel brush etc.

The non stick coating is of very good quality. Great for making chappatis and dosas.I also bought a  which is a variant of this tawa. I was able to see some minor differences.- The thickness of the special one is 3 mm (product description as 4 mm is wrong) as compared to 4 mm for the other one.- The edges of the special one has a bit more curve.- The handle on the special one has matte like finish.- The special one is a bit cheaper.Overall I think this special one is a little better.I have received few damaged products while shipping for tawas and handis from Amazon. But the best thing to do is request for a replacement (which is promptly done in my experience) instead of writing a negative review.

This Tawa is very good and big and for making Dosa and Parathas. It is 310mm in diameter and 4mm in thickness and quality is just awesome in its price it is an best offering from PEGION but its handle quality is not so good but it is strong enough to hold this tawa and if you want a big and flat tawa for making dosa, parathas and any item like this you can go for this tawa blindly

I had bought this off a lightning deal. Although it had the proper bubble wrap covering and everything, there were still visible scratches on the pan surface. The coating was not damaged, so I didn't bother returning. I have been using it to make Dosa's, Pancakes, rotis, toast etc and I found it very good for the use.

Received the product in a damaged condition bent on one side and in a very bad packaging. Overall not impressed with the product because of the below reasons -1) The bend during transit indicates the metal is soft. It will tend to deform over a period of usage.2) The bolt on the handle attached to the pan was lose. No way to tighten it up. I'll attribute this to bad quality control or transit damage. Either ways it shows the handle may develop movement or come off over a period of time.3) The non-stick coating does not seem to be of a good quality. I noticed a few micro dot like bubbles in the coating.4) The pan is raised in the center. On pouring liquid, it moves to the sides instantly.So returned straight away! Pigeon can do better. I hope they improve the quality.

Product is excellent in terms of quality, I tried dosa it turns out to be too crispy with only a pinch of oil...I would suggest manufacturer to do a little improvement in the tawa that it should be slightly more flat so that oil don't collect on the sides..
