Very good dosa tawa if you want market like taste. I have used normal tawa,non stick tawa and anodised tawa but this tawa is best as far as the taste is concerned. Though it is little tricky to handle. Surface is not smooth. As addviced you have to clean with normal water cannot use washing soap and hard scrubber. Very heavy and after like considerable amount of dosa making it start sticking and dosas are not able to come out easily. So when it starts sticking do seasoning that time.> Apply oil on both sides when your use is over to make is easy to use for the next time.> Make sure the batter is not very thin because dosas will stick in that case.>Tawa should be properly heated before making dosas.If you are taking proper care of these points you are good to go. Will surely recommend.

After researching a lot post dumping of non stick cookware, finally decided to pick cast iron tawa to make dosas, chillas, etc. Amazon recommended rock and I ordered it. I feel I made the right choice. This is super awesome product. Picked it up less than 2 mths back and used it 5-6 times. No issues at all. Heat distribution is a concern as it's cast iron product n it's not a good conductor of heat. But a great product n value for money too as I got it in discount too during sale.

Quality is very good. But be sure of the size you order. I had issues since the design/flame of my cooktop is not compatible with such a heavy & large size pan to heat it evenly. Going to order a smaller size skillet.

I bought this pan for my mother whose hobby is making dosas and is obsessed with cast iron. It requires a good seasoning and whenever you make dosas you need to spread ghee/oil using a cut up onion in between each dosa. Don't know why but whenever she does that the dosas turn out perfect, just like the restaurants. So there's a bit of a learning curve but once you get past that it's very easy to use. Cleaning it is also really simple as long as it's seasoned well and the dosa isn't stuck. Otherwise you'd have to scrape it off with a knife.

Rock Brand Cast Iron Tawa is an amazing product. Comes in different sizes, 10", 12", 14". Ideal for home use is 10" or 12" as the gas burners in our homes are small & the heat is concentrated in the centre which cooks the centre portion very fast, I purchased a 12" tawa which I feel is still big for home use. You need to regulate the burner flame accordingly. 14" works good for commercial/hotels as they hv bigger burners. As per instructions I washed the tawa with mild liquid soap (Snow White) & Cocunut Fiber thoroughly, then Pat dried with cotton cloth. Then applied sunflower oil generously & kept it on the gas on low medium flame till the tawa smoked & switched of the gas to let the tawa cool off. After approx 25-30 mins the tawa cooled. Wiped off the excess oil with a tissue paper & the Tawa was ready to use. Not a single dosa stuck or tore or burnt, they came out really crispy and crunchy. The taste was altogether different & very tasty than the Teflon ones. Advice to cook on low medium flame else ur dosa is bound to burn in centre & will make u unhappy & dissatisfied. Follow the instructions given on the packing box. The instructions pamphlet was missing, looks like it's has been discontinued. Absolutely happy with the product. Prepared Onion Tomatoes Uttapam's, the second time and they came out to be just great.

Product is superb..i have no issues with product. But the way amazon has packed it was depressing. the delivery person when gave the product, the product just fell down from the packed box. this tawa is really heavy. it was his good fate it did not fell on his feet. otherwise trust me it would have broken his feet. please have a good package atleast for things which are heavy.
