The papers are not too thick or too thin. They're good for sketching. I don't think it can handle water colours. The covers looked cheap and dirty. There were stains on both pieces and some kind of gooey stuff was stuck on one of them. But it's 2 A5 sketchbooks for this price. So considering that, I would say this is a steal. Overall, not rejoiced but happy????Edit: it can handle water colour a lot better than I assumed.
